Centurions Fall Short 5-4 In MACU Game Two

Elizabeth City, NC- Bucks County Community College fell to Mid Atlantic Christian Univers 5-4 on Saturday.  A sacrifice fly by Josiah Collado put Mid Atlantic Christian Univers on the board in the bottom of the first.

Bucks County Community College took the lead in the top of the second. John Mulder doubled, scoring two runs, to give Bucks County Community College the edge, 2-1.

Collado doubled down the left field line, which helped Mid Atlantic Christian Univers tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.

In the bottom of the fourth, Mid Atlantic Christian Univers broke up the tie when Nolan Colwell doubled, scoring one run. Then a sacrifice fly by Jack Valachovic followed to extend the lead to 4-2.

Evan Urglavitch homered to center field, which helped Bucks County Community College tie the game at four in the top of the seventh.

Shawn Esler stepped on the mound first for Bucks County Community College. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking one. Matt Pennoni took the loss for Bucks County Community College. The southpaw went one inning, allowing one run (zero earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking two. Cutter Williams stepped on the bump first for Mid Atlantic Christian Univers. The right-handed pitcher allowed eight hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Joe Ruggiero went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bucks County Community College in hits. Mulder and Urglavitch each drove in two runs for Bucks County Community College. Bucks County Community College were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ruggiero had the most chances in the field with five.

Collado went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. RJ Cabrera led Mid Atlantic Christian Univers with three hits in four at bats. Mid Atlantic Christian Univers stole four bases in the game.
