First Inning Struggles Put Centurions in Hole.
Six run deficit in the first inning was too big to overcome.
Elizabeth City, NC- Mid Atlantic Christian University scored six runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Bucks County Community College 10-0 on Saturday.
Mid Atlantic Christian Univers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Adam Schell drew a walk, scoring one run, RJ Cabrera drew a walk, scoring one run, Nolan Colwell hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Jack Valachovic singled, scoring two runs, and a wild pitch scored one run.
Mid Atlantic Christian Univers added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Landen Miller doubled to center field, Darris Boswell singled down the right field line, Colwell singled down the left field line, and Titus Bleckley grounded out, each scoring one run.
Alex Fantaskey took the loss for Bucks County Community College. The hurler went one inning, allowing six runs on four hits, striking out one and walking three. Colin Langley led things off on the mound for Mid Atlantic Christian Univers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking none.
Joe Ruggiero led Bucks County Community College with one hit in two at bats. Bucks County Community College were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. John Mulder made the most plays with five.
Mid Atlantic Christian Univers accumulated 10 hits in the game. Miller and Boswell were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Mid Atlantic Christian Univers.
