NEWTOWN, Pa. – Head Men's Soccer Coach, Justin Burroughs has announced the Centurions will open their 2025 campaign with preseason tryouts starting the week of August 11th. The captains will also hold captions practices throughout the summer on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00pm. Captains' practices are open to all incoming, current and alumni players (bring a water bottle).
The week before tryouts, Bucks will hold workouts for all prospective, current and transfering student-athletes starting on Monday, August 4th and continuing through Thursday the 7th (M-TH) from 5:00-7:00PM on the Centurion soccer field.
PRESEASON TRYOUTS will begin on Monday, August 11th. Tryouts will all be double sessions held Monday through Friday starting at 10:00AM and the second session starting at 4:00PM at the soccer field on the Newtown Campus (park at the bottom of Lot "S1"). Preseason will run August 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th.
The Bucks men's soccer program is looking to win the Eastern States Athletic Conference championship for the third time. The team will bring back a only a few players from last year team but incoming class is set to be exceptional on and off the field. The incoming players could be one of the best classes in recent years that will certainly bring back excellence that the program is known for. "We are ready to get started, with only a few returners and some top recruits, we're hungry and looking to show the talent that the area has to offer," stated Coach Burroughs, "we have a heavy schedule and I look forward to seeing the progress we've made." Men's soccer lost in a tiebreaker to the eventual champions, to qualify for the ESAC title game.
All potential student-athletes are asked to bring a water bottle (water will be provided), running shoes, soccer cleats and a physical. The eligibility paperwork will distributed at tryouts or can be found online. Physical forms can be found at: Athletic Physical Form
IMPORTANT DATES
- Athletic Orientation: TBD (virtual)
- Team Workouts: Monday-Thursday, August 4th-7th (5-7PM)
- Preseason Tryouts: Monday-Friday, August 11th-15th (double sessions 10AM & 4PM)
- Normal practice: Monday, August 19th (4:00PM)
- First day of class: Wednesday, August 20th
- Alumni Game: Saturday, August 23rd, (11AM)
- Preseason Game: Sunday, August 24th (7:15PM) away at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ)
- First Game: Saturday, August 30th (3PM) away, at Patrick Henry College
