Men's Soccer Top Christendom

Front Royal, Va. - The Bucks men's soccer team overcame being without multiple players from injuries to remain undefeated Virginia and defeated Christendom College by a score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Crusader Field.
The Centurions showed up determined to get back on track as they traveled to Front Royal, Virginia. Bucks started out extremely agressive and controled the game early in the contest. A foul let to a Bucks free kick when freshman, co-captain, Kane McDermett, buried a shot passed the out stretched goalkeeper to give the visitors a 1-0 league in the 15th minute. Bucks keep solid in defense stopping the hosts couterattacks throughout the have. In the 34th minute, freshman Aleksander Peyter (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem), found follow first year, Kaden Wexler (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) coming accross the top of the box. Wexler then fired a shot into the net to put the Centurions up 2-0. Christendom captilzed on an error in the 44th minute to cut the Bucks lead to 2-1 halftime. The teams battled back and forth until freshman, Brayden Otto (Warminster, PA/Calvary Christian Academy) finished a shot he recieved from freshman, Giovanni Pascale (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) to in the 53rd minute. With only 2 substitutes, Bucks held on to give them the much earned victory. Bucks goalkeeper, Leonel Chanez (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) had 6 saves for the day.
"We earned the win today; even though we have a lot of injuries, the guys showed heart" commented Head Coach Justin Burroughs, "A lot of guys played out off position, so it really showed their quality."
The win improves Bucks to 2-3-0 overall and 1-1 in the ESAC, while Christendom drops to 1-3-1 overall and 0-2 in the ESAC.
The Centurions are back in action on Thursday, September 18th when they travel to play Williamson College of the Trades, with kick-off scheduled for 6:30pm.
