Centurions Men's Basketball Hold Off Delaware County Community College
Bucks County Community College built a first-half cushion and withstood a late Delaware County Community College surge to escape Chester with a 76–74 win Thursday night (Jan. 22).
Bucks led 42–32 at the break behind a balanced attack and a major edge on the glass, then had to hang on as Delco flipped the script after halftime, outscoring the visitors 42–34 in the second half. The difference ultimately came down to extra possessions: Bucks won the rebounding battle 52–47, including 19 offensive boards, and paired that with a cleaner night taking care of the ball (11 turnovers to Delco's 13).
Mike Roccograndi powered Bucks with a team-high 21 points and stuffed the stat sheet with 10 rebounds and 8 assists in 38 minutes. Morris Ivery added 12 points, while Anthony Washington chipped in 12 points with 3 assists and 3 steals despite foul trouble and five turnovers. Idris Muhammad contributed 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals, helping Bucks control the paint and the backboards.
Delaware County was led by Jabree Martin's 23 points on high volume (10-for-31) and Aiden Lee's 22 points and 12 rebounds. Omar Warring delivered a strong interior performance with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks, as Delco piled up 9 blocks as a team and repeatedly challenged shots at the rim.
Both teams struggled from three (each at 21.4%), but Delco kept pressure on with a significant free-throw advantage (17-for-25 to Bucks' 10-for-20). Bucks' ability to generate second chances and create more assisted offense (21 assists to Delco's 14) proved just enough to offset Delco's late push, sealing a two-point road victory.
