BLUE BELL, Pa.- The Women's Volleyball team traveled to Montgomery County Community College on Monday night. Bucks would take the first set 25-21 and set the tone for the evening which was that we were in for a long night of great volleyball. Set two swung momentum back in favor of the Mustangs winning 25-20. Knowing this would at least have to go four the Lady Centurions played like they had no option but to win the third set which is what they did 26-24. Bucks would take that momentum into the fourth set and a back and forth match continued as the battle to 25 points came to the wire in which Montgomery capitalized 27-25. With a decisive fifth set Bucks came out on all cylinders and would have an 8-3 advantage before switching sides. After the switch the Mustangs battled back and tied things up. Bucks would have some luck go their way and were able to bring the set back even at 11 only to see Montgomery get the four points needed to win the match 15-11. Sophomore Amie Rickert (Langhorne, PA/Pennsbury) had a career night recording 45 assists. Fellow sophomore Breana Jackson (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks South) added 13 kills and 2 blocks credited by a soft touch that the Mustangs could not figure out. Freshman April Neeld (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) had 13 kills and 12 digs some literally coming off Montgomery players and Krista Hiller (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) had 10 kills and 9 digs on the night.
Montgomery improves to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the region and conference.
Bucks falls to 7-2 overall, 5-2 in the region and 4-1 in the conference.
Up next the Lady Centurions host Manor College on Thursday, September 21st at 6:00 pm.
