HARRISBURG, Pa.- The Lady Centurions traveled to Harrisburg Area Community College on Tuesday night. The Hawks swept Bucks a season ago and made the Region XIX semifinals before being ousted by Northampton Community College. This season would prove to be different as the Lady Centurions would win the first two sets 25-21 and 25-18. A stumble in the third set cost Bucks as they lost 20-25. A strong fourth set would be all the ladies would need to pull off the big EPAC (Eastern Pennsylavania Athletic Conference) victory. Lead by Sophomore Amie Rickert (Langhorne, PA/Pennsbury) with 25 assists, Krista Hiller (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) added 11 kills, 16 digs and 2 blocks. Freshmen April Neeld (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) contributed 11 kills and Jennifer Martyn (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) had 22 digs and 5 service aces to cap off the win for Bucks.
Harrisburg falls to 0-1 overall.
Bucks improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
The Lady Centurions return to play Thursday, September 7th when they travel to Lackawanna for a match at 6:00 PM.
